The Salthouse Harbour Hotel

Chef de Partie 

Required to join our professional award winning team at The Salthouse Harbour Hotel.  This artfully designed boutique Hotel and restaurant in Ipswich reflects luxury and dazzles in the waterfront of Ipswich’s vibrant harbour quayside at night.

The successful candidate will be passionate about food, have a flair for ingredients and the ability to remain calm under pressure.  Responsibilities will include:   Ensuring high culinary standards within the team, maintaining high levels of hygiene control and health and safety through the kitchen.

Experience of working at this level within a 2 rosette establishment would be an advantage.

Hours will be approximately 48 hours per week, shifts will include evenings and weekends and will be on a rota basis.

Full-Time / Part-Time Waiting Staff 

We are looking for experienced waiting staff to provide a high standard of service to our customers. Previous experience within hotels or restaurants is essential as well as a professional attitude and passion for the hospitality industry.

Approximately 35 hours per week to include evenings and weekends on a rota basis.

Part-Time Receptionist

We are looking for an organised, lively and enthusiastic person to join our front of house team. We are looking for someone with a sparkling personality who can create a lasting impression and who has experience of working in a similar front of house receptionist role.

You will be responsible for the smooth operation of the front desk, making sure customer service is of the highest standard at all times. You will show excellence in organisation.

Experience and duties required will include:

  • Previous hotel front of house receptionist experience preferred
  • Local to the Bury St Edmunds area preferred but not essential
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to work flexible hours as per shift rotas which will include evenings and weekends
  • Liaising with all departments on a day to day basis
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to work weekends with flexibility to cover extra shifts or to cover holiday

Chef de Partie 

The Pier at Southwold is part of the Gough Hotels group, we are looking to recruit a professional Chef de Partie with the talent and ability to prepare and produce high quality food consistently.  We would also consider applications from experienced Commis Chef’s or Demi Chef de Partie looking for the next step.

Duties will include:

  • Ensure that a high standard of preparations and presentation is achieved before any dish leaves the kitchen.
  • Oversees staff on section, training on the job and ensure that the section runs smoothly and efficiently
  • Maintain high standards in health, safety and hygiene.
  • Maintain a high standard of discipline to reduce waste and accidents.
